How it all began…

In case anyone out there doesn’t know how Daniel and I met, I thought it would be a good idea to document it here. It all started with a little website called Match.com. Yes, we met on the internet! Daniel actually “winked” at me (an easy way to tell someone that you’re interested) a couple of months before, and apparently I was insane enough to ignore him. I had the “find a match in 6 months or we’ll give you 6 months free” deal with the website, so I was looking for people to email so that I would fulfill the requirements of the deal. I stumbled upon Daniel’s profile and re-read it. I realized that we would probably have a lot in common, so I went ahead and sent him a brief little message. Little did I know that Daniel had let his membership lapse, but he was willing to pay for one more month so he could talk to me.

We began emailing back and forth. Soon it was Holy Week, and our conversations turned to the Easter Triduum. Through emails, we discovered that we had been at the same Holy Thursday mass at Our Lady of Fatima. We also quickly established that we would both be there for the Good Friday service that night. I think we were both a little too giddy for Good Friday, but it was so exciting to meet! After trying to catch each others’ eye all during the service, Daniel and I finally introduced ourselves to each other on the steps of Fatima after the service. The very first thing I remember about meeting Daniel is how unbelievably sweet his voice was. We set a date for two days later, Easter Sunday, and the rest is history!
