Bridesmaid Brunch and Bachelorette Bummer

Yesterday was a day chock-full of wedding events.  We began with the bridesmaids brunch at my godmother’s house.  We feasted on mimosas, two kinds of quiche, Zea corn grits, fruit salad, and bridesmaid dress cake!  The food was fabulous, and I was so honored to have everyone there.  After the brunch, the whole crew traveled down the street to my mom’s house to view the dress and the abundant wedding gift display.

After the brunch, it was time to get ready for the big bachelorette party that night.  Matron of Honor Amanda and I decided that of course, we had nothing to wear, so we headed to the mall.  On the way, I started feeling bad, but I thought I just overindulged in the brunch goodness.  We both shopped around a little, and both found outfits fit for our evening at Zeus and beyond.  I was still feeling really nauseous, so I decided to head home and try to sleep it off, hoping to wake up good as new.  Well, that didn’t exactly happen.  I was still feeling sick, and I was hoping that my lovely kindergarteners hadn’t passed on the virus that was going around our class this week.  Since I was still keeping everything down, I was determined to have my bachelorette party anyway!  I got dressed in my hot outfit, and my girls came to pick me up .  I donned my pink veil that bridesmaid Liz created for me and headed out!  At the restaurant, I slowly sipped my diet coke as my friends sampled all the delicious offerings of  Zeus food and drink.  I think I was probably the most boring bachelorette ever!

After Zeus, we headed to Liz’s apartment which she had transformed into a sultry boudoir.  There were feathers and candles on every surface, and colored lighting to set the mood.  She had created two signature cocktails to complete the pink theme, although I still was not up to partaking of any of them.  My friends showered me with lots of lovely things to get our marriage started off right!  I am so thankful for such wonderful friends who took the time and effort to make the night special.

As of today, we’re 12 days away from the wedding!  We can’t wait to see you all there!
