To do’s before the I do’s

So, I thought I would post a little update about the plans in the works so far. This past week has been extremely productive. Last weekend, we spent the majority of Saturday shopping for wedding bands. We went to no less than nine jewelry stores on our search. The difficult part was finding a band to fit around my engagement ring. I was pretty sure I would just have to get a ring custom-made to fit the engagement ring, but we were looking just in case we found the right thing. Wouldn’t you know it, but we found the perfect band at Zales! The curve of the band fit around the curves of my ring wonderfully and the diamonds matched as well. So, one ring down, one to go! Although we didn’t make a decision on Daniel’s ring that day, he tried on a whole lot of them. We found two we really liked, and after gathering more information later on, we decided to go with a band from Paul’s Jewelry. On Saturday, after the fun of rings, we headed to Cruce’ to design the invitation. After a LOT of patience on Daniel’s part while he designed and I looked over his shoulder, we have an invitation design! Whew!

Wednesday was a very productive day as well! After enjoying a lazy morning in the wake of our late night excursion to New Orleans for the Michael Buble’ concert, Daniel and I got busy crossing things off the to-do list. We started at Paul’s Jewelry and we ordered Daniel’s wedding band! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to take it home since they didn’t have his size in stock, but we were assured it would be arriving in a couple of weeks. Next on the list was furniture! Daniel and I saw a bedroom set we really liked at Home Furniture, and we decided to go to the other location to check it out again before making a purchase. My mom tagged along for the ride, since she and my dad were graciously contributing the money for a nightstand. When we arrived, the salesman informed us that their store actually had a larger inventory than the location near the mall, so we checked out the other stuff they had to offer. Well lo and behold, they had a bedroom set that was an extremely similar style to the one we had previously picked out, but it was not only a better color match to my hardwood floors, but it was closeout-priced! So, we were able to buy the bed, dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, and two nightstands! Many, many thanks to my parents, aunts, and uncles who generously contributed our wedding presents early so that we could purchase the furniture!

After the huge furniture purchase, and walking out of yet another store without actually having our new purchases in our hands, Daniel went off to work , and I continued the wedding errands in search of envelopes for our invitations. I wanted the formal wedding style with both the inner and outer envelopes. This proved to be more difficult than I thought, since I wasn’t ordering invitations with any of the stores I tried. I finally found what I wanted thanks to the lovely ladies at Paper Trail. They were able to call the company and get them to just sell me the envelopes and even have the return address printed on them. So, another thing accomplished! As soon as they come in, we can begin the fun of addressing! But, again, I walked out of the store with nothing to show for my time. Oh, well!

You may be wondering what is left to do. Here’s a brief synopsis of the remaining to-do list:

I’m sure there are many more things I’m forgetting, but this will be a working list. Thanks to everyone who checks the blog and cares enough to read my ramblings!
